AWM
About us
Our journey began with a baseline study, conducted with the support of the Gerontology Department at UCT, which revealed the critical needs of Older Persons in the community, particularly amidst the HIV/AIDS pandemic. This led to the creation of targeted programs addressing psycho-spiritual support, economic resilience, health advocacy, and safety for the elderly.
Over the years, we expanded our services to include household strengthening, assistance with grant applications, and healthcare adherence. AWM also took a strong stance on lobbying and advocacy, partnering with organizations like Age in Action and HEAL to champion the rights and well-being of Older Persons.
Today, AWM remains committed to fostering self-discovery and empowerment within communities, enabling individuals to shape their own thriving futures while honoring our legacy of care and support.
