Welcome to AWM

Abigail Women’s Movement, henceforth referred to as AWM, is a non-profit organization operating out of Khayelitsha. Our reach is in and around Khayelitsha covering areas that include Khayelitsha, Mitchell’s Plein (especially the Farm), Mfuleni, Lower Crossroad, Luzuko and Lloyd. Our focus is the development of communities, through enabling people within these spaces to discover themselves thereby conceptualizing and building the reality that is best aligned to who they are and create spaces for their prosperity. It is to be noted, however, this has not always been our approach, as is the case with community work, we evolved through time to what we are becoming.
